Respiratorial system safety evaluation by whole body plethysmography

The respiratorial system safety is a critical component of the core battery of pharmacological safety testing. The respiratory rate and tidal volume are the most important parameters to assess the respiratory function. Whole body plethysmography is method to accurately measure both tidal volume and respiratory rate. The measurement is done using conscious, unrestrained rats.
