 Our approaches in target discovery are based on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the disease phenotypes and progress. In order to help you to achieve this, we use genome-wide technologies, like transcriptomics and proteomics together with advanced bioinformatics and computational systems biology methods to identify the affected pathways, protein interaction and other regulatory networks. Other related technologies include genome-wide association analysis for the disease predisposing variants and genes as well as complimentary studies, like siRNA based gene inhibition.

We have a long experience in genomics and proteomics technologies from both the experimental as well as the data analysis side. In addition, we can provide our cutomers with all the relevant cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology based technologies for the target discovery phase.

Proteomics platforms

  • MALDI-TOF/TOF (Bruker Ultraflex II)
  • Hybrid triple quadrupole MS:es with linear ion trap (Thermo LTQ XL) interphased with online LC
  • Electrospray Ultra-High Resolution tandem TOF (UHR-Qq-TOF) (Bruker MaXis) with online LC

Genomics platforms

  • Based on Affymetrix technologies

In vitro and in vivo platforms

  • Cell culturing facilites for prokaryotic as well as mammalian primary cells and cell lines together with molecular biology, biochemistry and imaging technologies
  • Over 40 different disease models in CVD, diabetes, CNS, GI etc. areas, safety and toxicology evaluations
  • Whole animal imaging: IVIS fluorescence (rodents) and SPEC-CT with four heads (rodents, rabbits) (Q2/10)
  • Hematology, clinical chemistry, histology, microscopy and toxicokinetics instrumentation
  • Individually Ventilated Cage (IVC) -system, SPF-facilities, laboratories for behavioral studies and individual metabolic cages
  • Facilities have adjustable environmental conditions, including temperature and light conditions according to project requirements
